Sherbet Bunting

It was my sister's birthday last weekend and I made her some bunting to celebrate.
Some of the fabrics are new, my favourite being the 'Rosie Dot' by Tanya Whelan (yellow dot with pink rose) which was half price in Hobbycraft a few weeks ago. Some are recycled and some are vintage. The yellow gingham fabric is vintage Laura Ashley which I purchased from a boot sale many years ago.
I called it 'Sherbet' bunting as my daughter Becky said the colours reminded her of sherbet when I was making it.

  2. Hi Jacqui - I do love your bunting and as Liz says above, the additions of buttons, lace and stitching do make it really special. As there is quite a lot of bunting about now, it is quite a challenge to come up with a slightly different approach and I think you have really succeeded.

    Happy Jubilee Weekend, Ruth.

  5. Hello, I just found your lovely blog. I love the bunting, it is so soft and delightfully pleasing. My daughter is moving soon and my granddaughters will be having a new bedroom to fix up, I think a bunting like this would be beautiful hanging across the room. Thank you for the idea. Your photographs are outstanding. I have pictures of Yorkshire in my head from reading all the James Herriot stories, but you have brought those picture to life. It is even more splendid than I could ever imagine. I am your newest follower. I would be pleased to invite you to visit my blog. Hopefully you will decide to follow me, too. Have a wonderful jubilee celebration, Connie :)

    1. Hello Connie. Thank you for your lovely comments and for following my blog. I've just popped over to your blog and your photos of the gas station are beautiful and very atmospheric. I shall have a good look around your blog later. I'm glad you like the bunting and the photos of Yorkshire. We rent a beautiful 18th century stone cottage there for our summer holiday every few years and the views from the rear garden overlooking the valley towards the sea are breathtaking. The North Yorkshire moors are a short drive away and we often picnic there and take in the views amongst the sheep and heather. One of my favourite beaches is there too where I collect fossils, jet and semi-precious stones. I'll sort out a few more photos soon. I hope your daughters move goes well and I look forward to following you!
